Born in Madrid, Elena started to play violin at the age of five with Richard Schwabe in the Community School of Performing Arts (now Colburn School) in Los Angeles, California. On her return to Spain, she continued her musical studies in Madrid, Pamplona and Badajoz and finished her degree with a distinction under Professor Olga Vilkomirskaia.
The Roncesvalles Duo, formed by Elena Jáuregui (violinist) and Francisco Javier Jáuregui (guitarist), made its debut in 1997 in Granada and since then has performed throughout Spain, UK, Italy, Iceland, France, and Southeast Asia in festivals such as City of London Festival, Kirkjuaejarklaustur Chamber Music Festival (Iceland), Festival de Segovia, and Clásicos en Verano de la Comunidad de Madrid (Spain) and in venues such as St Martin–in-the-Fields and LSO St Luke’s (London) and the European University Institute (Florence).
